Duncanville police confirmed Sunday afternoon that a suspect in the Saturday morning killing of Haranondez Love was in the Duncanville city jail and would be transferred to the Dallas County jail Monday.
Love's girlfriend, Shalonda Robertson, said the suspect, identified by police as Clayton C. Bookman, 35, and Love were playing dominoes at Robertson's Duncanville home shortly before noon Saturday when they decided to go to the store for cigarettes. Family members had initially identified the suspect as Clayton C. Brewer.
As the two men got up from the table where they had been playing, Robertson said, the suspect produced a pistol and shot at Love several times.
"I heard a noise and he was standing up and shooting at Haranondez," she said.
Love ran outside and collapsed in the front yard and Brewer drove away.
"There was no argument," Robertson said. "He just flipped."
