DALLAS — Some patients and staff were evacuated from Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas Sunday afternoon after a fire broke out on the 11th floor.
Dallas firefighters observed smoke coming from the 11th floor of the hospital when they arrrived, and patients were already being moved from the affected area.
The highest concentration of smoke was on the north side of the main hospital building. Firefighters were quickly able to identify the source of the fire in a mechanical room on the 11th floor.
No injuries were reported. Investigators were trying to determine how the fire started.
Parkland is the primary Dallas County hospital with 770 beds and 400,000 visitors on its campus every day, according to the facility's website.
