ROCKWALL — A five-year-old who went missing after his first day of kindergarten Monday afternoon has been found.
Derrick Hood was supposed to board an after-school daycare bus outside Shannon Elementary in Rockwall Monday afternoon. He never got on that bus.
After a frantic search Monday afternoon, Derrick was found safe at a Boys and Girls Club in Rockwall.
The incident was reported right away by the daycare bus driver, but Derrick remained missing more than four hours later.
Sources tell News 8 it is believed the boy just got on the wrong bus. The school district plans to investigate exactly how Hood went missing on Tuesday.
