Missing Arlington man found driving, Silver Alert lifted

Update 2 p.m.: Arlington PD spokeswoman Tiara Richard reports that Kirby Sr. has been found safe. 

"A vigilant person saw him driving on the tollway in Plano and called officials. Mr. Kirby pulled off the tollway and was contacted by Plano police," she said.

ARLINGTON — Authorities in Arlington are searching for an 86-year-old missing man who was last seen by an officer Thursday night.

Police in Arlington said Billy Kirby Sr. has begun to show signs of developing dementia.

He was reported missing Friday morning after he was last seen by a Dallas officer, who Kirby stopped to ask directions to get back to Interstate 30 in Arlington.

Kirby is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds.

He drives a blue Chevy Silverado with Texas disabled license plates 7FYZS.
