DALLAS – For Chrissy Mallouf, shopping after Thanksgiving is an annual tradition.
"It's like an adrenaline rush," she said. "It's great and I love it."
And, she's ready with a game plan.
"I strategically place where I want to go. I get what I need, head to the next store."
She's worked on her strategy for nearly a month, looking for deals and discounts online. Much of that strategy, though, takes place in the palm of her hand. Apps such as BlackFridayads.net and TGI Black Friday, helped her find the best bargains.
Studies show most shoppers will rely on their smartphones for their research.
"The Black Friday ads dot net - you can scan the stores and compare and find who has the best deal," she said.
TGI Black Friday notifies shoppers when new ads are posted, it also shows users how many deals are available inside the store. Shoppers can also use coupon apps to double dip on discounts.
Mallouf says she will also be scanning Twitter and Facebook for tips from other shoppers while waiting in line.
"Especially while you are sitting there and waiting," she said. "You can follow people on Twitter and Facebook and see the deals they found."
