FORT WORTH — Business owners have expressed relief after hearing that Fort Worth police arrested a suspect in a series for armed robberies.

On Tuesday, News 8 learned that 48-year-old Terry S. Wilcox was in federal custody, suspected of robbing several banks and businesses.

“It’s a good thing,” said Fitim Pgrtovic. “Everybody is going to feel more comfortable.”

Pgrtovic owns a restaurant next door to Donut Delight on Clifford Street. On July 11, police said a man armed with a gun walked into the small business and robbed the place.

Wilcox is a suspect in Monday’s robbery at a bank in Arlington, but Fort Worth police believe he could be responsible for a total of 13 robberies in the city and surrounding areas.

“He deserves to be in jail forever,” Pgrtovic said as his pizza restaurant filled with customers on Tuesday afternoon. “We work hard and we don’t need stress or dangerous things around.”

It turns out that Wilcox lives in a gated community just a short distance from the businesses he is accused of robbing.

A friend who did not wish to be identified told News 8 that Wilcox is a good person and a dedicated father. She also said that up until a couple of months ago, he was working.
