ARLINGTON -- They've created awfully high drama for awfully high stakes.

"There is no better place in the world to have a competition like this," said Jim Haworth, president and CEO of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR).

The competition is returning to AT&T Stadium for a fifth year, but there's never been a competition like this one.

They say Sunday is the richest one-day rodeo ever. "The American" offers up to a $2 million payout.

But organizers are claiming the money is only part of the allure.

"I can tell you despite all that, the real excitement here is the fact that we're holding this championship in Cowboys Stadium," said Patrick Gottsch, the founder of Rural Media Group, which is helping put on The American.

The weekend started Friday night with a walk down the red carpet for charity at Cowboys Dancehall in Arlington, but Saturday and Sunday, it will be back to the dirt and the drama for a history-making moment.

"You're gonna get a chance to see the best bull riders in the world right here on this stage," Haworth said.

There are still some tickets available for the weekend events, but there are more tickets remaining for Saturday than Sunday, when that $2 million payout could be claimed.
