DALLAS – Dallas police say the remaining suspect connected to a double murder in an apartment near Dallas Love Field is in custody.
Demetrius Sterns, 20, surrendered Tuesday night, department spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said. He's jailed at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center on two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Police say he and Paul Robert Pickens are responsible for shooting and killing Ivan Garcia, 29, and Santana Rodriguez, 19, in an apartment in the 3300 block of Cedar Plaza Lane following a drug deal gone awry.
A third person was shot and identified his attackers from the hospital, according to an arrest affidavit. Pickens, 20, was arrested on Nov. 27 and charged with the same thing as Sterns.
Both are jailed on $2,100,000 bond, county records show.
