Rain was forecast across Texas on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
In North Texas, there was a 60 to 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms around Dallas and Fort Worth. Temperatures could range from a high in the 60s to a low in the
50s.
In the Panhandle, skies should be sunny and mostly clear around Amarillo. Forecasters predict wind chill values in the 20s and 30s in the morning before warming up to a high near 60. Lows in the 30s were also possible.
In central Texas, there was a strong chance of rain with an 80 to 90 percent chance around Austin and San Antonio during the day. Forecasters predicted a moderate chance for showers at night. Highs in the 60s and lows near 50 were also expected.
Along the Gulf Coast, there was a strong chance for showers and thunderstorms with a 90 percent chance around Houston during the day and a 60 percent chance at night. Temperatures could range from a high near 70 to a low around 50.
In western Texas, skies were expected to be sunny and mostly clear. Highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s were forecast around El Paso and the Midland-Odessa area.
