CARROLLTON — Blame the rain for a big problem on the President George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton.

One of the westbound lanes is closed near Frankford Road because the pavement has shifted — rising up to three feet in some places.

Highway crews will be working around the clock to build a temporary retaining wall. Even at that speed, it won't be finished for at least a week.

The North Texas Tollway Authority says the westbound entrance ramp at Frankford Road will be closed 24 hours a day until the repairs are complete. Westbound motorists should be prepared for various lane closures on the Bush Turnpike from Kelly Boulevard.
