SAGINAW — Saginaw police are investigating a fatal shooting Monday afternoon in the 200 block of Straw Road.
Investigators said the homeowner, firefighter David Wilson, opened fire around 2:30 p.m. after interrupting a burglary in progress.
The gunshot victim was not identified.
Police said they seized two cars in the neighborhood, one parked in Wilson's driveway and the other down the street.
"Of course, I'm always concerned when something like this happens," said neighbor James Lambert. "But this could be an incident just involving two people. I'm sure it was, but it may have been their situation and I don't think it has anything to do with the neighborhood."
Police said it was likely that no charges will be filed against Wilson.
