LEWISVILLE -- Police arrested a 33-year-old man Tuesday morning after an overnight standoff at an IHOP restaurant.
At 12:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the IHOP in the 2300 block of South Stemmons after an employee heard the suspect, David Lee Horton, talking to a female about stealing a vehicle.
When officers arrived, Horton barricaded himself into the bathroom and said he had a gun. Police evacuated the restaurant.
Horton made his way into the attic area of the restaurant, and then to the roof before finally surrendering to police shortly after 5:00 a.m.
Horton was arrested on two warrants issued by Plano police for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery and one issued by Dallas County for vehicle burglary.
Plano police said Horton displayed a handgun at a business in the 3300 block of Dallas Parkway, then restrained all employees and robbed the store of cash and electronics on Jan. 21.
Horton and two females are being questioned by the Lewisville Police Department.
No one was injured in the incident. Charges are pending in the standoff.
