DALLAS -- Police detectives have determined that the reported abduction and sexual assault of a teen girl in Dallas earlier this week did not actually happen.

The incident was said to have happened near the 5900 block of Wisdom Creek Drive when a suspect forced a 14-year-old into his vehicle at knife point after she got off a school bus at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The alleged victim told police that the male suspect was black, about 30 years old, and was wearing jeans with a "white paint smear look." She also described a vehicle believed to be involved.

Upon investigating, Dallas police found that the assault did not occur.

No details were released, but DPD said they gave the teen "referrals to agencies that are better equipped to provide her with assistance for the difficult life challenges she is facing."

The department thanked the community Wednesday for their help in spreading the news of the alleged assault.
