Holford Park
GARLAND - A man shot and killed himself at Holford Park in Garland Monday afternoon.
The incident led to the closure of the park for hours, police said.
After negotiating the man in his car, SWAT was called to the scene. The man reportedly killed himself as SWAT arrived at about 2:20 p.m.
While there was at least one school nearby, police said there was no need for a lockdown as they could control the flow of traffic to keep people a safe distance away from the scene.
