PLANO — Plano fashion blogger Lauren Scruggss, who was badly injured in a freak airplane accident one year ago, is moving forward in her life.

Scruggs got a warm welcome during an appearance Sunday morning at Prestonwood Baptist Chruch in Plano.

Scruggs suffered brain injuries, a severely damaged eye, and a severed hand last December when she walked into a spinning propeller at a McKinney airport after disembarking from an aerial Christmas lights tour.

She talked to the congregation about her long road to recovery. "I definitely went through some anger, and mornings not wanting to get out of bed and wanting to hide," she admitted.

Scruggs said faith and prayers have kept her going.

"I just want to thank all of y'all for praying for us, because we could feel that... and we still do."

Scruggs added that her accident and the painstaking recovery process has been a humbling experience that has inspired to devote her life to doing more for others.
