FLOWER MOUND — Texas health officials will discuss their Flower Mound cancer study with Town Council members on Thursday night.

The department released a report Wednesday saying there is no cancer cluster in neighborhoods near gas drilling operations.  But the parents of one of the Flower Mound children who has leukemia said the study did nothing to ease their concerns.

Jodie Boutilier said she was startled when she called the state agency to discuss the report. “We were actually told at one point that it had been edited in order to cause the least amount of alarm possible, because -- quite frankly --  looking at the number of instances from 2008 to 2009 were alarming,"  she said.

The report compared cancer cases in Texas between 1998 and 2007.

The Boutiliers say their daughter's case and several other leukemia cases were diagnosed after 2007.
