DISH, Texas — The DISH Board of Commissioners will vote to suspend all natural gas drilling operations for 90 days Monday night at a town meeting.

The move comes after an air study in the Denton County town, located in the heart of the Barnett Shale, showed high levels of toxin benzene.

"It is clear that the State of Texas is not going to take appropriate action to protect the citizens of DISH; therefore, it is up to the local municipal government to take these steps," said DISH Mayor Calvin Tillman in a written statement.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Town of DISH Municipal Building.
