It's a picture that has captured the compassion of the nation: Four-year-old Dyrk Burcie in the arms of a Dallas firefighter.

Dyrk is in the final stages of incurable cancer, and his father is putting together a scrapbook with images of support sent in by WFAA viewers.

Photos have been pouring in this weekend. The Irving Fire Department hoisted a giant American flag over a Las Colinas canal with two ladder trucks and a fire boat.

Coppell firefighters created an unforgettable portrait featuring three firetrucks and the firefighters themselves spelling out DYRK.

Comanche Florist sent a message to Dyrk the way they know best — with flowers and a sign saying "We Love You."

And how about this: Carolyn Mendoza Canales baked cookies spelling out Dyrk's name. She just wants the youngster's family to know they are in her prayers.

You can submit your own photographic tribute to Dyrk the WFAA.com YouNews page, where you'll also be able to view the work of others. We also accept submissions on the WFAA Facebook page.
