JOSEPHINE -- A 8-year-old girl reported missing in Josephine was found hours after she was reported missing.
Deputies at Collin County Sheriff's Office said they received a call about the missing child at 8:15 a.m. Friday.
Her parents had discovered she was missing and started a search, which eventually grew to almost 100 people.
"We were scared to death that we didn't know where she was," said Kathy White, a resident of Josephine.
HD Chopper 8 was over the scene when police found the little girl just after noon. She was found inside a nearby home.
The little girl was barefoot in her pajamas when police found her and carried her away.
She stated that she left her home around 1 a.m., but it is still unclear why she left. Neighbors said she had left her house in the middle of the night before.
She is now at the Child Advocacy Center in Plano undergoing an interview to determine if a crime was committed.
"I'm relieved," White said. "Relieved, relieved, relieved."
A 21-year-old male was arrested at the girl's home for outstanding warrants.
