MESQUITE — Hands were clasped tight as dozens of students quietly stood around the flagpole at Mesquite's John Horn High School Wednesday morning.

They were remembering Sigfrid Credo, a senior and active member in band and choir, who died in a car accident on Monday.

"It truly means that he has touched multiple people's lives," said Joh'shun Griffin of the Class of 2012. "There were some who probably wanted to come who could not make it, and I'm pretty sure this thing... this whole entire parking lot... would be full had family come, other friends around the world come. But he has truly touched not only my life, but many others."

Credo and four schoolmates — including his twin brother — were in Monday's crash as the driver lost control and the car flipped near the West Texas town of Roscoe.

The others in the accident expected to be okay.
