MESQUITE — Mesquite police have asked for the public's help to find a child who has been missing since Friday.

Police said five-year-old Misty Stevens was last seen headed to a Dallas grocery store with her mother's boyfriend, 40-year-old Andy Paul McCauley.

Early Saturday afternoon, McCauley called his home and said he was returning with the girl, but neither one had appeared by the early evening.

They were last seen at a convenience store near Jim Miller Road and Interstate 30 around 3 p.m.

Mesquite police spokesman Lt. Bill Hedgepeth said there is no evidence of foul play and the incident does not meet the requirements to issue an Amber Alert.

Misty Stevens is four feet tall and weighs 50 lbs. She has dark brown, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes, and she was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt with a horse on it, white pants with "swirly" design and white dress shoes.

McCauley was driving a tan 1994 Honda Accord station wagon with Texas license 539-CVS. He is six feet tall and weighs 170 lbs; he has brown, graying hair.

Contact Mesquite police 972-216-6759 or your local police agency if you have seen Misty Stevens or Andy McCauley.
