DALLAS — The McKinney Avenue Trolley is moving on up to Bryan Street.

The Dallas City Council approved an $8.4 million contract to help pay for construction to expand the streetcar network from Uptown to downtown.

The federal government is also kicking in nearly $5 million to bring the line to the new Woodall Rodgers Deck Park.

Construction is scheduled to begin this fall.

The McKinney Avenue Trolley provides free transportation on refurbished, classic streetcars — one of which is 101 years old.
