FRISCO — Soil tests confirm concerns about lead levels near a battery recycling plant in Frisco.

The Exide Technologies facility is near downtown Frisco and surrounded by homes and schools.

The city says the amount of toxic lead isn't enough for an immediate health emergency and remains below legal federal limits.

But the lead level is high enough for concern about the safety of young children. Researches say too much lead can result in lower IQs, learning disabilities, and other problems.
