DALLAS - Former Dallas Cowboy Deion Sanders is expected to be back in court today with his soon to be ex-wife Pilar for a child custody hearing.
The judge is expected to make a ruling on who will get custody of the couple's three children.
When the Sanders were last in court, the judge granted Deion temporary custody of the couple's two sons, ages 10 and 12. He granted temporary custody of the couple's 8-year-old daughter to Pilar. The judge also ordered Pilar to stay at least 500 yards from the couple's Prosper mansion.
The judge also made rulings regarding the couple's fight on April 23 at their Prosper home. The judge ruled neither Deion nor Pilar committed assault, by law. He also ruled Deion did not intentionally injure Pilar when he tried to remove her from his bedroom.
The judge never interviewed the couple's three children as planned. After hearing testimony from others, the judge ruled that neither Pilar nor Deion committed family violence as alleged. However, he did say the family has been living in conflict.
Today's hearing begins at 9 a.m. at the Collin County Courthouse.
After the judge determines child custody for the couple, they will have to return to court yet again to divide their assets legally in what has become a very public divorce.
