An Irving family is asking for help locating a 42-year-old woman who has been missing since Jan. 12.
Tonya Raelene Diaz, pictured above, was last seen at the Irving Mall. Police spokesman John Argumaniz said the disappearance does not mean she's endangered, so the department has not issued a formal alert.
Her family, however, says she is mentally handicapped and believes she may be being taken advantage of. There is no medical diagnosis of any condition, Argumaniz said, who noted that Diaz went missing "a couple of years ago" and was located unharmed in California.
The department is investigating as a missing persons case.
