DALLAS - Looking for something to do with the whole family that won't wipe out the wallet? Well, WFAA's got something for you that's only going to cost a buck!
The Dallas Arboretum is kicking off its "Dollar Days" for the entire month of August. Admission - just one dollar!
A dollar won't get you much in the vending machines anymore, but for the month of August it will get you in for some summer fun at the Dallas Arboretum. Come live out your very own fairytale at one of the seven castles on display. From Rapunzel's tower to Beauty and the Beast, the Arboretum will be the hot spot this month, but there's also ways to cool off in this relentless summer heat.
Despite near record-breaking temperatures, the Arboretum's VP of Marketing Cris Emrich said that hasn't scare people away from spending time in the gardens and enjoying the fairytale castles with the whole family.
"No matter how hot it is, you can walk around. There's a lot of shade, drink a lot of water, bring a hat - enjoy the weather," she said.
She also suggested arriving early and spending time under some of the canopies of trees around the property. You can also enjoy a break from the heat in the fern garden which averages about twenty degrees cooler!
The one dollar admission starts today and runs through the end of August. Don't forget parking will cost you seven dollars.
