FORT WORTH — A team effort Sunday afternoon helped Fort Worth police Officer John Bell, who was injured in the line of duty.

Bell was hit multiple times during a shootout at a Haltom City body shop in January.

A fundraiser took place Sunday to raise money for his medical expenses. There was food, music and a raffle at the Rahr & Sons Brewing Company in Fort Worth.

"We are just honored to have the Fort Worth Police Department involved," Fritz Rahr said. "We just love the things that they do for us to keep us safe, and I don't think they get enough credit.

Officer Bell suffered a shattered eye socket and he lost a finger on his left hand as a result of his injuries.

The drug suspect who shot the officer was killed in the exchange of gunfire.
