Homeless woman killed by hit-and-run driver on I-35E

DALLAS — A 50-year-old homeless woman was killed while trying to cross Stemmons Freeway early Thursday morning, police said.

The driver of the vehicle fled and was being sought by police.

The woman was struck around 6 a.m. near Hi Line Drive, just north of downtown Dallas. She was hit in the northbound lanes of the interstate.

Police were interviewing witnesses in hopes of getting a description of the vehicle.
