GRAND PRAIRIE — A grass fire near Lone Star Park forced the shutdown of Belt Line Road just north of Interstate 30 on Sunday evening.
Fire department spokesperson Lyle Gensler said a field was being cleared for construction when it caught fire.
Firefighters responded and were able to limit the flames to a couple of large piles of brush.
The fire burned out and Belt Line Road was re-opened in both directions.
