LEWISVILLE LAKE — There's something lurking in Lewisville Lake — and this is no Halloween ghost story.
What kind of creature is leaving distinctive tracks in the mud along the waterline?
Ruben Cardenas, who lives nearby, says it is an alligator — and he has the video to prove it.
The images show something swimming in the water, its head sticking just above the water.
Cardenas said he's seen the gator several times. "We've got the little ones, they swim in the lake. We do the wakeboarding and skiing, and so it's kind of scary to know we've seen it with our own eyes," he said.
Alligators are common in North Texas. In fact, wildlife experts say the American gator is the largest native Texas reptile.
