FORT WORTH — Fort Worth city leaders honored the history of the vaquero (or Mexican cowboy) with the dedication of a bronze sculpture on Saturday.
I'ts located in the plaza at North Main Street and Central Avenue. Work on the project was delayed over whether the vaquero should carry a gun.
The artists added it for historical accuracy without the approval of the Arts Commission.
In the end, the vaquero kept his sidearm.
