FORT WORTH — Police have made an arrest after a fatal hit-and-run accident in the city's southeast sector late Saturday night.

A 52-year-old woman was found unconscious on the pavement near the intersection of Berke Road and Seminary Drive just before 10 p.m. She died later at John Peter Smith Hospital.

Vu Lee's home is directly in front of where the victim was struck.

"I don't believe it first time I saw it," said Lee, shaking his head in disbelief. "I feel sorry. I see her; she had a lot of blood."

Investigators determined that the victim had been struck by a silver Chrysler 300 driven by Pedro Garcia, 33. Police said he failed to stop and render aid and left the accident scene.

Garcia — who, sources said, was arrested more than 10 miles from the crime scene — is facing a 3rd-degree felony charge for an accident involving serious bodily injury or death.

"That guy so mean for that lady," Vu Lee said in disgust.

The name of the victim has not been released.
