FRISCO — The Frisco RoughRiders announced an agreement to sale the franchise to a former CEO and managing partner of the Texas Rangers and the current president of the team.

According to a statement released by the team, Chuck Greenberg and Scott Sonju have agreed to purchase the franchise from Mandalay Baseball Properties LLC, which has owned the Double-A team since its creation in 2003.

Greenberg also owns the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Texas Rangers' Advanced-A affiliate, and the New York-Penn League's State College Spikes. He will serve as the CEO and a co-managing partner of the franchise with Sonju.

"Chuck brings so much to the table and we’ve put together a wonderful group of local partners,” Sonju said. “This will not only be a seamless transition for all of our employees, sponsors and fans, but will also position the RoughRiders to thrive even more in the years ahead.”
