FORT WORTH - Firefighters extinguished a blaze at the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro Tuesday morning in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
According to a statement released by the Fort Worth Fire Department, firefighters were alerted to the fire in the 2400 block of N. Main St. just before 6 a.m.
Upon arriving to the scene, firefighters spotted smoke billowing from the back of the restaurant and were able to get the fire under control in a 20-minute period.
Standing outside the restaurant Tuesday morning, an emotional Tim Love, chef and owner of the restaurant, said he didn't yet know the extent of the damage.
"We're just happy everyone's safe," Love said.
Earlier in the morning, Love wrote his appreciation for those who reached out.
"Thanks for the outpouring of support," he wrote. "... We will reopen stronger!"
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
