FORNEY - Large plumes of smoke filled the air as a home became fully engulfed in flames in the already severely damaged neighborhood of the Diamond Creek Estates in Forney in Kaufman County.
Firefighters battled the strong blaze in the 400 block of Cedar Street, which broke out at about noon today.
The Diamond Creek Estates neighborhood was hit hard by a tornado in the storms that blew through North Texas Tuesday. Preliminary investigations by the National Weather Service have indicated the tornado may have been an EF3, with winds of 150 mph.
The home appeared to be a total loss.
