IRVING — About a dozen people were left homeless early Saturday morning after a fire at the Quail Run Apartments in Irving.

The first of two alarms went out just before 5 a.m. Police arrived at the scene in the 4500 block of Leland Boulevard before firefighters, and went door-to-door making sure all tenants got out safely..

The fire started in a ground floor unit and was only contained after spreading to the second story.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
