DALLAS - Classes at E.D. Walker Middle School in Dallas were canceled Thursday due to a downed power line that cut off electricity to the school.

In a statement released in the morning, a Dallas Independent School District spokesman said the outage left the school without "adequate light and ventilation."

Parents can pick their children up at the school at any time. For students who ride the bus, they will remain at the school until the end of the regular school day. Lunch will be served.

Classes are scheduled to resume at their regular time Friday.
