DALLAS — One-hundred-and-fifty ex-offenders got a fresh start in Dallas on Saturday.
The former prisoners graduated from the Texas Offenders Reentry Initiative (TORI). The 12-month case management program was founded by Bishop T.D. Jakes of the Potter's House church.
The program helps former inmates find jobs, housing and assists them in furthering their education.
Since it was created in 2004, TORI has helped more than 7,000 individuals. There are also TORI programs in Fort Worth, Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
