GRAND PRAIRIE - The driver of a car that was zig-zagging through traffic on Eastbound I-20 Thursday afternoon was killed after colliding with another vehicle, according to Grand Prairie police.
Witnesses said a 1994 white Ford Explorer driven by Ann Marie Nelson, 36, of White Settlement was cutting in and out of traffic when it clipped a 2005 Dodge Stratus while changing lanes.
The Explorer spun into a guardrail and cable barrier, and flipped multiple times, throwing the Nelson from the vehicle. She was thrown 20 feet and was pronounced dead at the scene. Nelson was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident blocked two eastbound lanes of I-20 Thursday afternoon, resulting in substantial delays.
It is the eighth traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.
