IRVING - A woman was taken to a nearby hospital after a TRE train struck a truck that was stopped on the train tracks at East Gilbert Road just east of the West Irving Station, DART officials reported Monday morning.
DART officials said the collision happened around 9:45 a.m. as the train was heading westbound. While it was confirmed the woman was inside the truck at the time of the crash, it was not revealed whether she was the driver.
Both westbound and eastbound tracks were closed down as the scene was investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.
The identity and condition of the injured woman has not been released.
