DALLAS- Businessman Mike Rawlings announced Thursday morning his intentions to run for the positions.
He said he has a strong vision for the city’s future.
"It's a Dallas with strong city leadership that is known for being smart, proactive, putting taxpayers and citizens first," said Rawlings.
Rawlings is the chairman of the Dallas Parks Board. He also served as the city's homeless czar and is a former CEO of Dallas based Pizza Hut.
Roger Staubach was among those lending his support.
Rawlings joined former Police Chief David Kunkle and Dallas City Council member Ron Natinsky in running to replace Tom Leppert.
The general election is in May.
