DALLAS — The Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation picked up a major donation Monday when Chase donated $3 million to create a pedestrian walkway which will be called the Chase Promenade.
The area will span the length of the five acre deck park currently under construction over Woodall Rodgers Freeway in downtown Dallas.
The donation will also fund free public programming once the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park is complete.
The urban park will create new green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul streets. Teh project is aimed at reconnecting Uptown with Downtown Dallas.
Despite all the wet weather, construction remains on schedule.
The park is set to open in early 2012, with other amenities coming online later in the year.
The park will be owned by the City of Dallas and managed by the private Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation.
