DALLAS — The discovery of a dead cat has triggered a criminal investigation into employees at the Dallas Animal Shelter.

The cat was found inside a wall at the Animal Services building last month.

The district attorney's office is looking into the death, and has subpoenaed employees to testify before a grand jury this week.

News 8 has learned that staffers knew the cat was stuck in the wall, but did nothing to help it until it died days later.
