A violent sex offender who escaped from a Dallas halfway house over the weekend has been added to the list of the most wanted fugitives in Texas.
A reward fund was also increased in the case of Billy Twayne Gibson, 33.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said Gibson cut off an ankle monitor designed to monitor his whereabouts and fled from the Wayback Halfway House at 899 North Stemmons Freeway early on Saturday morning.
Gibson is a registered sex offender with a history of criminal violence, including the sexual assault of a child.
The fugitive is described as black, 6'-3" tall, 250 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. He has multiple tattoos, including a red Playboy-style bunny on his throat.
Authorities say Gibson should be considered armed and dangerous.
A $1,000 reward has been increased to $5,000. Call 800-252-TIPS (8477) or text the letters "DPS" — followed by your tip — to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
