DALLAS –– A Dallas Police Department senior corporal was arrested early Monday morning in Grand Prairie for possession of drug paraphernalia, a department spokesman said.

A Grand Prairie Jail log shows Sr. Cpl. James Wallace III was booked in at 1:08 a.m. on Monday. While he posted $288 bond for the paraphernalia charge, records show he is being held on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Collin County following a traffic citation he received in August.

The log says he was arrested at 1700 N. Highway 161. A spokesperson has not returned a request for comment. Dallas police Sgt. Warren Mitchell, who confirmed the arrest in a release, said Wallace has been placed on administrative leave as the internal affairs division investigates.

It’s not clear what type of paraphernalia he is accused of possessing. Wallace, 35, is listed as having a Grand Prairie home address.
