DALLAS — Authorities are asking for help in locating a pregnant Dallas mother who disappeared nearly a week ago.

D’Lisa Kelley, 24, hasn’t been seen or heard from since last Friday. Police unsuccessfully tried to trace her phone, indicating it’s either turned off or ran out of battery.

“Ms. Kelley has a 2-year-old child and it is uncharacteristic (for her) to leave him for any extended period of time,” said Maj. Rob Sherwin, who oversees the missing persons squad.

According to police and Kelley’s family, she was last seen about 5:30 p.m. Friday leaving her grandmother’s house in the 2700 block of Prosperity Avenue. She was taking a bus to attend her best friend’s wake, police said.

“She never made it,” her sister, Shaun, wrote in a Twitter posting. Her last name was unavailable.

Shaun wrote that her sister, Jasmine, received a frantic, apparently unintended call from Kelley about 6:45 p.m. Friday.

“She was in the background screaming for her life saying, “Stop! Stop! Get off me!” A man’s voice could be heard saying, “Shut up! Stop screaming! You want to be hardheaded!”

The call disconnected and she said Jasmine tried to call back several times, but couldn't reach her. Shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Jasmine received a text from Kelly stating, "Call you in a minute."

Jasmine replied, asking her what was going on and if someone was hitting her. Kelley then replied that “he” thought she was with someone else. That was the last time anyone heard from Kelley.

Her family reported her missing on Saturday, police said.

Neighbors say they are truly concerned about what could possibly have happened to her.

“She didn’t show up at the funeral and that’s when we really knew she was missing," Marquita Mason, a neighbor.

Kelley was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved sweater, leopard print tights and a denim vest. She has long hair and it was last pulled up in to a bun.

Family members say she has several tattoos, including one that says “DATANYA” on the right side of her neck, a lion on her thigh with the words, “LEO,” underneath it, “DUNYAE” on her hand and a pray hands rosary on her back right shoulder.

Authorities are asking that anyone who has information about Kelley’s whereabouts call 214-671-4268.
