DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Investigators said off-duty Officer Andrew Maldonado was taken into custody at 3 a.m. after his vehicle crashed at the corner of Lemmon Avenue and Lovers Lane.
Maldonado, a four-year veteran of the department, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a criminal and internal affairs investigation.
