DALLAS – The surviving victim of a deadly drug transaction Monday at an apartment near Love Field identified his attacker in a photo lineup.

According to an affidavit released Tuesday, Paul Robert Pickens, 20, and a man known only as 'June' were involved in a drug transaction with three others at an apartment in the 3300 block of Cedar Plaza Lane at 12:34 p.m. Monday.

The affidavit says "a conflict developed" and guns were drawn. Pickens, the document says, shot and killed Ivan Garcia, 29, and turned his gun toward an unnamed complainant. June, police say, shot and killed Santana Rodriguez, 19.

The second person Pickens is accused of shooting was rushed to the hospital and survived the attack. Rodriguez was declared dead at the hospital while Garcia died at the scene.

The affidavit says investigators learned Pickens may be a suspect and showed the wounded victim a photo lineup. The man positively identified Pickens as his attacker.

Police have issued a warrant for his arrest. He's charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault.
