DALLAS — Police are investigating the death of a father of six who was slain on the front porch of his Southeast Dallas residence early Saturday morning.

Detectives said Jeffrey Weaver, 36, was returning to his home in the 600 block of Woodmont Drive around 2 a.m. when he was shot multiple times. He died a short time later at Baylor University Medical Center.

Shawanda Weaver told News 8 that she and her children were asleep when she felt the window shaking... then heard her husband crying out for help. She had this message for the killer:

"He was a husband, a father, a son, brother.. and y'all took him from us," Mrs. Weaver said.

the couple had six children and they were preparing to move out of the neighborhood near C.F. Hawn Freeway and Jim Miller Road, Mrs. Weaver said.

Police said they are tracking down all leads, but no motive has been established and no suspects were named.
