AUSTIN — A bill filed Tuesday in the Texas Legislature by State Rep. Rafael Anchia (D-Dallas) calls for a review of the North Texas Tollway Authority.
If HB 1577 is passed, the Sunset Advisory Commission would determine if the NTTA — which operates the Dallas North Tollway, the President George Bush Turnpike and other toll roads in the region — is actually necessary.
The Commission also examines ways to improve the operations of agencies it reviews.
The move follows various complaints ranging from late payment fees to a lack of diversity on the NTTA board of directors.
